A very interesting Crusader countermark on a dirham of Baybars

CRUSADERS. Uncertain. 13th century. Dirham (Silver, 23 mm, 2.15 g). Lion walking to left; the name of Baybars still legible above the lion, ‘… / [al-Ẓāhir] Rukn al-Dunyā wa al-Dīn / Bibars qasīm Amīr al-Muʾminīn’ (‘al-Zahir Rukn al-Dunya wa al-Din Baybars, associate of the Commander of the Believers’ in Arabic); cross pattée countermarked above; all within a circle. Rev. The legend of the host coin citing the locally appointed ʿAbbasid caliph, al-Ḥākim Billāh, and containing the mint and date formula, is totally obliterated. Host coin: Album 883. Balog 64. A very interesting Crusader countermark on a dirham of Baybars. Struck slightly off center, otherwise, good fine.
